The driver of a party bus that crashed into a tree on Aug. 11 has been arrested after a passenger died during the incident, the California Highway Patrol said.
Jason Quinones, 43, of Daly City, was arrested for felony hit and run, felony driving under the influence and felony manslaughter shortly after he allegedly fled the scene of the accident.
Quinones lost control of the converted party bus at about 10:50 p.m. on northbound Interstate 280 south of Alpine Road, according to the CHP. The Chevrolet E3500 van drove off the roadway and collided with a tree. The impact killed passenger Adam Blomquist, 38, of San Francisco. According to the CHP, Quinones fled the scene, but he was located in the area a short time later and was arrested.
