A man who was rambling around inside a Palo Alto home at 3 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24 was arrested for possession of heroin and trespassing into an inhabited dwelling, police Agent Marianna Villaescusa said.
A resident woke up after hearing a stranger in the downstairs of his home on the 400 block of Seale Ave. between Waverley and Cowper streets. The resident confronted the intruder, Drew Anthony Kenny, 23, of Quincy, Calif., and told him to leave.
Kenny was incoherent and continued to roam the house. Arriving officers escorted Kenny out of the home, and noted that he continued to behave weirdly, Villaescusa said. A search found a brown substance and a spoon on his person, which tested to be heroin.
Police could not find a point of entry, but the victim was unsure if he had left his doors unlocked. Palo Alto police continue to remind residents to lock their doors and windows, whether they are at home or away.
