Books: Panel on creative writing at Stanford
Stanford University's 67-year-old Creative Writing Program will be the topic of a free panel discussion held at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, April 2, in Cubberley Auditorium at the School of Education. Speakers will include Eavan Boland, the program's current director; and former Stegner fellows Philip Levine and Scott Turow. Writer and former program director Nancy Huddleston Packer will moderate. The natural world comes to new life in an exhibit of mixed-media paintings (oil, wax, acrylic and pastel) and drawings by Palo Alto artist Naomi Mindelzun. The free show opens tomorrow, April 2, at Gallery 9 at 143 Main St. in Los Altos. Exhibit hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4, through April 28.
