Two possible sexual crimes against young people at or near the Palo Alto High School campus are under investigation by Palo Alto police, the department confirmed Thursday, May 24.
A stalking incident and a sexual assault were reported to police Tuesday at 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. respectively. Police responded to 50 Embarcadero Road, according to the police log.
A Community Service Day was taking place Tuesday, during which time hundreds of Paly students were off-campus, helping at local nonprofit organizations.
Sgt. Rich Bullerjahn said the alleged perpetrators and victims are all juveniles. But he declined to comment on whether they are Paly students.
"I can only say that they all live in Palo Alto," he said.
The victims and authorities know the suspects, and there is no threat to the public, he said. The cases are still under investigation.
