My goodness ... I noticed this the other day, but there was a big fence all around it so I could not see the rubble.

Sears is one of the first places I went in Palo Alto when we moved here in 1969 ... so long ago. Sears was the WalMart of America at that time. They used to print and send out their Sears Catalog to everyone in the country I guess ... kind of like shopping on the Internet ... it's really the end of an era.

Then there was Co-op Market, and Oshmans, then they built out the rest of the San Antonio Shopping Center.

Then came the Old Mill which was where I first saw Star Wars.

I even remember back so far as to recall the Mayfield Mall which I used to like.

Kepler's books used to have a store kitty-corner on the other side of the intersection at El Camino, and then there was Tower Records ...

and now I am trying to remember if Mountain View Surplus store used to be where Tower Records was or over at Central and Rengstorff?

So many changes. Thanks for the picture.
