Rain doesn't put damper on the 'beached' Fuerbringer

Stanford grad Matt Fuerbringer and partner Nick Lucena advanced to the third round of the $380,000 Milner Open on a rainy Thursday in The Hague, Netherlands, part of the SWATCH FIVB World Tour.

The top-seeded Fuerbringer and Lucena won their first round match, 23-21, 21-15, over 32nd-ranked Martin Lebl and Mike Placek of the Czech Republic.

In the second round, Fuerbringer and Lucena topped 16th-seeded Andrey Maryshev and Dmitri Barsouk of Russia, 26-24, 23-21 in 49 minutes.

Fuerbringer and Lucena meet eighth-seeded Brazilians Benjamin Insfran and Bruno Oscar Schmidt on Friday. Fuerbringer and Lucena defeated Benjamin and Bruno in three sets at the Norwegian Grand Slam in Stavanger.

In writing a story like this it would be a good idea to mention what sport you are talking about.
