EPA police make arrest, seize fireworks

An anonymous tip led police to arrest a person with more than 200 pounds of fireworks and pyrotechnic devices, according to the East Palo Alto Police Department.

Officers received an anonymous call at about 10 a.m. Sunday reporting a person was selling fireworks off the back of a pick-up truck, police said.

The caller offered a description of the vehicle and its occupants, according to police.

Around 7 p.m. officers observed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect and stopped the vehicle, police said.

More than 200 pounds of fireworks and pyrotechnic devices were located inside the suspect vehicle, according to police.

One suspect was arrested for felony and misdemeanor violations and booked into San Mateo County Jail, police said. His name has not yet been released.
