EPA labor negotiations resume
by Don Kazak
Talks between striking East Palo Alto workers and city officials
resumed Thursday morning. Workers and members of the Service Employees
International Union held a noon rally at City Hall, while the City
Council set a special closed session for tonight to discuss the
negotiations.
About two dozen city workers went on strike Monday morning over
issue of wages, binding arbitration for grievances, and establishing
an agency shop.
The striking workers are secretaries, maintenance workers, planners
and accountants, among others.
