Greene, Palesoo win seats on Ravenswood board
Newcomer Jacqueline Wallace Greene and incumbent Chester Palesoo
were elected to the Ravenswood City School District board Tuesday
night. Greene was the top vote-getter, receiving 2,463 votes and
leading her closest competition by more than 900 votes.
East Palo Alto and east Menlo Park voters also passed Measure C,
a $10 million school bond to upgrade district schools, by 86 percent
of the vote. It needed a two-thirds majority to pass.
Palesoo, who edged out Edward Moss by just under 200 votes, said
he was happy to be reelected to the school board.
"It's good to maintain my seat on the board," he said. "We've done
a lot of good stuff. I'm hoping to continue that." Palesoo, 40,
is a counselor at a nonprofit job training center in Menlo Park.
Greene, 35, who is a Stanford administrator, could not be reached
for comment Tuesday night.
Palesoo said the Measure C funds will allow the district to complete
projects started by the 1996 Measure U school bond.
