Services: All of Palo Alto's six libraries have books,
videos, magazines, large print books, catalog access to online
periodical databases and photocopiers. All except the Children's
Library carry bus schedules, City Council packets, newspapers
and engravers. Internet workstations are available at all libraries.
One-hour tutoring sessions on using the Internet are available
by advance registration.

Lists holdings for all six library branches. From home or office PCs, library
card holders can place their own reserves, renew items, review their circulation

Library

Collections: Audio books, cassettes, CD-ROMs, CDs, DVDs,
videos, non-English language books, circulating encyclopedias,
books for teachers and teens, parenting books, grandparent kits.
Storytimes: Baby Story Time (ages 6 to 18 months) is on
the first Monday of the month at 11 a.m., alternating between
Children's and Mitchell Park. Toddler time (ages 18 months to
3 years) is on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.; Preschool
time (ages 3-5 years) is on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.; Family stories
(all ages) are read during the school year on the second Wednesday
of the month at 7 p.m. After-school Special programs (during
the school year for grades 1-6) are held on the fourth Wednesday
of each month at 3:30 p.m. The Peninsula Story Guild's Evening
of Storytelling (ages 4 and up) is on the third Monday of every
month at 7 p.m.
Children's services: no minimum age for library
cards. For children 13 and under signature and identification
of a parent or guardian is required. Summer Reading Program available
at all libraries except Main. But, Main will have a reading program
for teens.
Outreach class visits: The library offers one story
time per year to any Palo Alto school, ranging from preschool,
day care to middle school, at their location or at any of the
libraries except Main. Palo Alto elementary and middle schools
may go on a class visit. The library will visit elementary schools

Equipment for the visually impaired: Reading machine that converts
printed text to spoken language and print enlarger.
Operation Homebound
This service provides home (both private and institution) delivery to people
unable to come to the library due to a long-term illness or physical disability.

The nonprofit Friends of the Palo Alto Library raises funds for
