California Law Revision Commission
4000 Middlefield Road, Room D-2, Palo Alto. Created in 1953, the commission studies the law in order to discover defects and anachronisms and recommends legislation to make needed reforms.

Senior Adult Legal Assistance (SALA)
160 E. Virginia St., Ste. 260, San Jose. Nonprofit elder law service offering free legal services, community education and assistance to Santa Clarla County elders on issues such as Social Security; medical, long-term care; elder abuse; denial, reduction or termination of government benefits; and sheriff's evictions. Appointments available at Avenidas and Stevenson House in Palo Alto and the Mountain View Senior Center.

Bowling Green Park, 474 Embarcadero Road, Palo Alto. Organized in 1933, the Palo Alto Lawn Bowls Club provides instruction by arrangement. The green is open to members and guests for draw game on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday starting at 1:30 p.m. Summer hours start at 10 a.m. June 1-Sept. 30.
