Identification placards for the disabled
People with disabilities who are mobility-impaired may apply to the California Department of Motor Vehicles for a placard to carry with them for display on the dashboard of the car in which they are riding. This enables the vehicle to park in spaces designated Handicapped Only. Fees apply for some types of placards. Doctor or physician certification required. Ridesharing
RIDES for Bay Area Commuters Inc. organizes carpools and vanpools and provides program services for people in seven of the nine Bay Area counties. Also provides personalized commute consultations. Other commute information regarding bicycling, commute incentives and public transit or telecommute available. Call 511.

Safe Ride
An American Red Cross program run by high school students. This service provides a safe ride home on Friday and Saturday nights from 10 p.m.-1:30 a.m., but is only for high school students. Service only runs during academic school year (September-June). Call 877-753-RIDE (7433).

American Airport Service
Charges $55 for limo direct to the San Francisco airport; $48 for limo direct to San Jose airport. Up to four people. Call for fares for additional person from same location. Call 650-216-8888.

1250 San Carlos Ave., San Carlos. From Palo Alto to San Francisco via El Camino Real, Hwy. 101 and San Francisco Airport. Weekdays: approximately from 5 a.m.-9:46 p.m. The weekday express commute bus RX (Stanford Shopping Center-San Francisco) bypasses the airport. Hours are limited. Express fare is $4.50. Super Shuttle
Charges $27, plus $9 for each additional person, for shuttle service to San Francisco Airport and $26 plus $9 for each additional person to San Jose Airport.
