Commuter shuttles
Caltrain runs free shuttle buses during commute hours between the Menlo Park train station and the industrial parks on Willow and Marsh roads. These shuttles are funded jointly by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District Transportation Fund for Clean Air, Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board and local employers. Call 800-660-4287.

Deer Creek Shuttle, operated by Caltrain
This free shuttle runs from the California Avenue train station to the Stanford Research Park. Call 800-660-4287.

Downtown Express
The shuttle from Stanford's main campus and Medical Center to downtown Lytton Plaza at Emerson Street and University Avenue runs every 25 minutes from Mon-Fri 11:20 a.m.-2:15 p.m. Call 650-723-9362.

Dumbarton Express
Administered by the Dumbarton Express Consortium and operated by AC Transit, the bus service travels through Palo Alto and Menlo Park crossing the Dumbarton Bridge and terminating at the Union City BART station. The DB and DB1 operate during non-holiday weekdays, Mon-Fri, only during commute hours. Service begins in Palo Alto at 6:32 a.m. starting from the Deer Creek area and terminating at the Union City BART. The last evening bus leaves the Palo Alto Caltrain station at 8:04 p.m. returning to Union City BART. During peak commute hours the service runs every 20-30 minutes. The adult transbay fare is $3.50 each way; senior, youth and disabled transbay fare is $1.70. The local adult fare is $1.75. Senior, youth and disabled fare is $.85. City Hall, the Palo Alto Caltrain Station, the Palo Alto Veterans Hospital and the Stanford Industrial Park. In Menlo Park, there are several stops along Willow Road, including the Menlo Park Veterans Hospital. Call 511 and say Dumbarton Express for schedule information.

EPA commuter shuttle
Caltrain runs a free shuttle bus from the Palo Alto Menlo Park train station to East Palo Alto. This shuttle is funded by the San Mateo County Transportation Authority and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, along with City/County Association of Governments and the City of East Palo Alto. Line A
Runs Mon-Fri, 6 a.m.-8:30 p.m. year-round except campus holidays, with stops at the Palo Alto Transit Center by way of Stanford Shopping Center, the Medical Center and the Main Quad. Approximately every 15 minutes. Ê Call 650-723-9362.

Line B
Runs Mon-Fri, 6 a.m.-8:30 p.m. year-round except campus holidays. Runs clockwise from the Palo Alto Transit Center to the Medical Center by way of Town & Country Village, the Alumni Center and Tresidder Union. Also runs counter-clockwise by way of Stanford Shopping Center and Stanford West Apartments. Approximately every 15 minutes. Call 650-723-9362.

Marguerite Shuttle
340 Bonair Siding, Stanford. Stanford University's free public transit runs Mon-Fri year-round except university holidays. Limited service is available on weekends during the academic year. The shuttle serves both Palo Alto and California Avenue Caltrain stations. Marguerite is wheelchair and bicycle accessible. Call 650-723-9362.

Medical Center Loop
The shuttle operates between the Stock Farm parking lot and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Mon-Fri, every 15 minutes 5-6:30 a.m., 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.-1 a.m.; every 7-8 minutes 6:30-9 a.m. and 1:30-5:30 p.m. Year-round service including campus holidays. Call 650-723-9362.

Medical Center to Hillview/VA
Operates Mon-Fri year-round, 7 a.m.-6 p.m., including campus holidays. Runs from the Stanford Medical Center through the heart of campus to El Camino Real and up Page Mill to the VA Hospital. Every 30 minutes. Call 650-723-9362.

Menlo Park Midday Shuttle
701 Laurel St. -- Transportation Division, Menlo Park. The free weekday shuttle provides transportation Mon-Fri 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. between the city's downtown and senior residential areas, the Stanford shopping and medical centers, and the Belle Haven neighborhood in east Menlo Park. Schedules are available at Menlo Park City Hall, 701 Laurel St. and on the website. Wheelchair accessible. Call 650-330-6770.

Midnight Express
Shuttle service operates seven nights a week during the academic year (September-June). Departs the Palo Alto train station every 20 minutes, starting at 8:30 p.m. Shuttle runs Sun-Thu approximately 8:10 p.m.-1:30 a.m. and Fri-Sat 8:10 p.m.-2:30 a.m. Stops include the Campus Oval, Stanford Hospital, Stanford Shopping Center, downtown Palo Alto, Town & Country Village and Tresidder Union. Palm Drive Express
Operates Mon-Fri, 7-9:30 a.m. and 3:45-6:45 p.m. year-round except campus holidays.ÊA commuter service that runs from the Palo Alto Caltrain station to the top of the campus Oval at Serra Mall (every 8-9 minutes). Call 650-723-9362.

Palo Alto Shuttle
The Palo Alto Shuttle operates two routes: the Embarcadero shuttle and the Crosstown shuttle. The Embarcadero shuttle runs every 15 minutes from 6:50-9:45 a.m., with limited lunch service from 11:45 a.m.-1:45 p.m. and 3-6:50 p.m. on weekdays. Connects businesses in the East Bayshore/Baylands area with downtown Palo Alto and the Caltrain station, with service to Palo Alto High School, Castilleja School and the Palo Alto Medical Foundation. Also serves Jordan Middle School. The Crosstown shuttle runs Mon-Fri, except holidays, every half hour from 7:40 a.m.-5:50 p.m. from Downtown Palo Alto to East Charleston Road, serving several senior residences, libraries, commercial districts and Caltrain. Redi-Wheels
San Mateo County Transit District runs curb-to-curb transit service for people with disabilities. It operates daily from 5:30 a.m. until midnight. Pre-qualification required; transportation reservations made in advance. Fare is $3 for each one-way trip, or $30 for a book of 10 ride tickets. Call for application packet. SamTrans
The San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans) provides bus service throughout San Mateo County, to downtown San Francisco and to San Francisco International Airport and to northern Santa Clara County. Buses run daily 6 a.m.-2:45 a.m. with limited service on weekends and holidays. Maps and schedules are available on the buses, at city halls, chambers of commerce and public libraries. Special buses serve 49ers games and the Bay to Breakers race in San Francisco. Local fares are $1.75 for adults; $1 for youths 17 years and younger; and 75 cents for seniors (65 and up) and disabled riders. Monthly passes are available. Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority
3331 N. First St., San Jose. VTA bus and light rail service extends from San Jose into Menlo Park, with connections to SamTrans service in San Mateo County. A free shuttle connects the San Jose Airport with light rail and Caltrain. Hours of operation vary by route; buses and light rail run less frequently on weekends and holidays. Schedules are available on buses and light rail, at local colleges, libraries, chambers of commerce and city halls (or call and a copy can be mailed). Adult fare is $1.75 one way per ride; youth fare (ages 5-17) is $1.50; seniors and disabled ride for 75 cents. Express routes cost adults $3.50. Children 4 and under ride free. Exact change is required. Discount prepaid tokens and passes are available. All schedules and fares subject to change. Call 408-321-2300.

Shopping Express
Operates only during the Stanford University academic year (September-June) on weekdays from 4-10 p.m. (every 45 minutes) and weekends 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m.Ê (every 45 minutes), 2:30-7 p.m. (every 30 minutes), 7-10 p.m. (every 45 minutes). Area of service includes the residential areas of the University, the Medical Center, Stanford Shopping Center and the business district in Mountain View bordered by El Camino Real, San Antonio Road and Showers Drive. SLAC Line
Operates Mon-Fri year-round except campus holidays. Runs 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. (every 20 minutes), 5:30-8:30 p.m. (every 40 minutes). Stops include SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, the Science & Engineering Quad, West Campus Residences and Hoover Tower, and Oak Creek Apartments located on Sand Hill Road. Call 650-723-9362.
