Part of the Mountain View-Los Altos Union High School District, the adult school has been offering instruction to adults for more than 35 years. Serving students at more than 20 different locations, classes range from traditional high-school diploma programs to computer classes.

Variety of classes offered quarterly in this Palo Alto Unified School District program, from English as a Second Language to woodworking. Classes for seniors take place in a variety of locations. Complete schedules are inserted in the Palo Alto Weekly in mid-August, November and March and are also available in area libraries and community centers. Office hours: Mon-Thu 8 a.m.-9:30 p.m. and Fri 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

A program for Bay Area adults that offers a broad range of courses taught by Stanford faculty, instructors and researchers. Class offerings include liberal arts and sciences, writing workshops and professional and personal development.

UC Berkeley Extension

UC Berkeley Extension is the continuing education arm of the University of California, Berkeley. The Peninsula Center offers more than 300 classes per year, which include project management, personal financial planning, paralegal studies, accounting, marketing, management and more. Personal enrichment courses are also offered in areas such as writing, humanities and wine studies. Other UC Berkeley Extension centers and classrooms are located in San Francisco, Berkeley and online.
