Woodside Elementary School District Woodside Elementary School, 3195 Woodside Road, Woodside. The district has one K-8 elementary school. Community support: The Woodside community celebrated completion of the school's major construction and campus renovation project in its village-like setting in January 2008. Other campus facilities include science and computers labs, are classrooms, a modern gymnasium, Sellman Auditorium, community meeting rooms, three sports fields and multiple play structures. The community recently renewed a parcel tax, which generates almost $250,000 for the school program. Construction bond measures approved by voters of Woodside in the past decade total $17.2 million. The nonprofit Woodside School Foundation supports enrichment programs, such as music, art, foreign language, the library and technology. For the 2009-10 school year, it is expected to raise approximately $1.7 million. Woodside is one of the oldest schools in San Mateo County. The first school building and land were donated in 1851 by John Greer, one of Woodside's earliest settlers. A new, wooden, two-room schoolhouse was built in 1877 and used continuously until it was moved and renovated to become the Rosekrans Library.
